How are every meals made? (Ingredients and production)
Curious about where our ingredients come from and how your meals are produced?
In this article you'll find everything you need to know about our ingredients and the production of your every meals.
Are all meals vegan?
All our meals are purely plant-based and made from 100% natural ingredients – without any artificial additives, preservatives or flavour enhancers. This also means our meals are lactose-free.
Where do the ingredients come from?
We adhere to very strict sustainability criteria when sourcing our ingredients. We predominantly source our ingredients regionally and from domestic farming in Germany. When selecting our suppliers, we place great importance on the principles of organic farming in order to promote biodiversity and protect the environment. We know exactly where every single ingredient comes from.
The vegetables are harvested at their optimal ripeness and then shock-frozen at -40 °C. This shock-freezing preserves nutrients to the maximum, as well as taste and texture, without any chemical additives.
We know exactly where every single ingredient comes from and are currently exploring ways to track our ingredients "live" here on our website and on the packaging, giving you maximum transparency.
Where is production based?
Our diverse range of meals is produced in northern and western Germany and in northern France (Normandy) by our partner facilities, which are certified to the highest standards (IFS and/or BRC/BRCGS). Safety checks and quality controls accompany the entire production process, from ingredient delivery to the finished meal.
The finished meals are shock-frozen directly, packaged and stored in freezer facilities until they are handed over to our delivery partners. This ensures optimal shelf life even without preservatives.
